Today, Ethan McGuinness resigned as Chief Executive Officer of McG Plus and of Ideal News. In a press release, he said this:
Saldy today, I must announce that I will be stepping down from running McG Plus. It requires quite a lot of maintenance and time to keep it going, and at this time, it's just not something I have available. I am happy to announce however that I am handing over the reins to Elliot to manage everything regarding McG Plus. I will remain on as an advisor for a short period of time to assist Elliot in some of the more technical aspects until he's learned the in's and outs of the business.
I am also announcing that Elliot will be taking over full time operations of Ideal News. During big world events (i.e. Apple Events, Elections) I will occasionally write some articles for Ideal News, but the bulk of it Elliot will manage.
He then went on to detail the final release of McG Plus he will over see, Highland Marys:
In moving forward I am excited to announce the final version of McG Plus that I will create is launching today!
Introducing- McG Plus: Highland Mary's.
Highland Mary's brings several key new features to our platform wrapping up all open projects that I've started.
- All content being created or that has been in the works has been published and released
- The Internet Archive has been added as a service to McG Plus
- Comic's Unlimited will be launching within the next couple days
- McG Reads re-design will be launching within the next couple days
- Streamlined and updated sign up process for McG Plus
- Price of McG Plus subscription has been lowered from $5/Month to $3/Month (This price decrease is being implemented to make McG Plus available to a wider audience. At this price, we are making no money and only barely breaking even, as we do have to pay for hosting, email, storage etc...)
