In preparation for WWDC 2021, I am listing my wishlist for some of Apple's main software platforms. The second of which that I will write about is macOS 12.
Every year, there is much speculation about what macOS will be named. Apple has upheld the tradition of first naming macOS after "Big Cats", but it has now transitioned to naming macOS after places in California. In 2018, there was macOS Mojave. In 2019, there was macOS Catalina. In 2020, there was macOS Big Sur. in looking at trademarks that Apple has registered, the most likely names that Apple will give macOS is Monterey or Mammoth. You can check out more on that here.
My macOS 12 wishlist-
- Bug Fixes and Security enhancements.
- Though pretty much all macs and mac software is really quite secure (much more secure than windows pc's) there still is more room for improvement as far as bug fixes and security enhancements go.
- Widget's on the Desktop
- Last year at WWDC, Apple introduced re-designed widgets, but they where constrained to a side bar on the right of the desktop in a slide-over window. In macOS 12, I would love the option to put these widget's on my desktop for easier access to these at-a-glace options for information
- Weather App on the Mac
- Apple has a weather app on just about all of it's platforms, and I think that it's high time that it is brought over to the mac.
- Shortcuts app on the Mac
- I would love to see the shortcuts app brought onto the mac for better options in automating one's workflow.
These are all that could come to me at the moment, but in the days leading up to WWDC, I will update this post with more on my wishlist. Make sure to check out our other wishlist's coming soon.
