In preparation for WWDC 2021, I am listing my wishlist for some of Apple's main software platforms. The third of which that I will write about is iPadOS 15.
With the iPad Pro that was announced in April at Apple's Spring Loaded Event, that iPad included an Apple M1 Chip inside, making it on par- and even better than many computers out there, but the software is still lagging, so there are big expectations for iPadOS this year.
My iPadOS 15 wishlist-
- Multiple Display Support
- I would absolutely love to see Multiple Display support come to iPad. Currently, when you plug an iPad into a display, you just see a carbon copy of what's on your screen, but with black bars on the border. What would be effective is for Apple to really utilize this as an opportunity to extend the iPad desktop.
- WAY better multi-tasking
- The iPad really is ineffective at multitasking. It really needs better multi-tasking tools to bring it on par with the mac and other such types of computers.
- Apple's pro apps brought over to the iPad
- Apple has a great suite of "pro" related apps such as Xcode, Final Cut Pro and Logic. I think it would be great and that a ton of people would utilize it if those pro apps where brought over to the iPad.
- Widget's on the iPad's home screen
- Last year with iPadOS 14, Apple brought the re-designed widgets over to iPad, however they are still stuck in the left hand column on the iPad. The next good step would be for these to be able to be placed anywhere on the iPad's home screen
- App library brought over to iPad
- Last year, Apple also brought the App library to iPhone. I would love to see something similar to this on iPad with iPadOS 15
These are all that could come to me at the moment, but in the days leading up to WWDC, I will update this post with more on my wishlist. Make sure to check out our other wishlist's coming soon.
